General: E. O. Woghiren is the Founder of Egbe Woghiren Educational Foundation which provides scholastic sponsorships to talented youths to train in skilled-trades. He is also the Founder and executive director of EWEF (Egbe Woghiren Educational Foundation). EWEF provides “Skilled-Trade” training to Youths & talented individuals in impoverished communities around the World.

A Canadian Citizen, Mr. Woghiren  is also an “Edo” native from Benin (aka - Bini); a "Kwa" speaking People of the “Old Benin Kingdom” in West Africa.

Mr. Woghiren came to North America in early 70s. With Engineering Degrees and Career of over 30 years at 3M, General Electric and Ecolo Control Group combined, he has again distinguished himself as a ‘Bridger’ of two Worlds; with the mission of training kiids and talented Youths in impoverished Communities.

EWEF provides Skilled-Trades training and related tools to repair or rebuild on-going maintenance capability for broken technological Infrastructure amenities in impoverished communities. He sees this as the overriding cause of perpetual poverty and health issues and their never-ending human sufferings. With the Skill-Trade, these communities are able to address their own issues confronting them like, starvation, social / economic woes due to lack of ‘jobs’, health care deficiencies, AIDS treatment & other deadly contagious diseases.

In a recent interview, the Founder reveals the underpinnings for his vision. He also explains the motivation bringing about EWEF. ...Quote; "In most cases, the seemingly noble giving and donations in 'relief efforts' is in reality promoting a never-ending dependencies in impoverished communities. A state of 'Welfare & handouts' for some, and a bonanza for those in control (the well to do) to enrich themselves! There's no doubt on this fact. Unfortunately it fosters the human carnage we now see in these places. We don't and won't do that. EWEF offers Trade Skills for ‘Self Help’, ‘Self Reliance’ and ‘Self Sustenance’ instead; which are the EWEF 3S. It's simple; …give a man fish to eat you, you feed him for the moment; teach him to fish; you have fed him for life …This is what EWEF Mission is about! Providing relief for the short run (the status quo of ‘Hand-outs’) continues to fail these people. EWEF is not going to be part of that! We need to try something else, EWEF is it. Join us!” - E. O. Family and Personal: Undoubtedly a busy man, he is also involved in day to day operation of EWEF. He knows both Worlds extremely well. Particularly the cultures, societal concerns, vital amenity needs, underlying dysfunctions and the crucial technological infrastructures needed to remedy the human carnage resulting from Skills lacked & needed to fix them. EWEF solves this. As he often said; … “Poverty’ is itself not the culprit; Lack of ‘Education’ in the classical sense is not the problem either; …The real culprit here is the lack Skilled Trade Workers which is what is causing Poverty and Human Suffering. This lack of Skilled Trade Workers to provide needed services leads to the disrepair or dilapidating of what ever Technological Infrastructure there is (just like here in Canada)! “Obviously, I have personal interest & stake in both Worlds!”

He is a Christian and a family man. He is the Eldest offspring of Late Chief Egbe O. Woghiren – (A Benin Chief - The Agbonmoba of Benin Kingdom); one of many Chieftain of Edo People. He is head of the "Egbe Wing" in Woghiren Clan. When the Chief passed on October 5, 2005, He assumed his role in the "Egbe Woghiren Wing" – An ‘Edo’ Custom and tradition, strictly hereditary.

Anecdote: Asked why EWEF and why this particular Mission? … He paused; and then went on to give a list of long held personal beliefs and moral views on obligation of fellow human beings to another. Adding; Quote: …I’ve always prayed for true Charitable Organization that I will help remove once and for all, the Technological Infrastructure deficiencies that are responsible for most of the ills in the world today. EWEF plans to restore sanity to the ‘Order of things’ as it ought to be”; he added! For me; Mr. Woghiren is a true Hero and a personality that’s truly inspires. Personally; I believe in the approach of helping suffering people and communities to help them directly. EWEF is making a positive difference. For sure a progress that the world needs today!
